Halasana Yoga & Its Health Benefits

The name comes from the Sanskrit Hala, meaning “Plow”, and Asana, meaning “Posture” or “Seat.” This is also known as Plowing. Halasana is one of the more advanced yoga poses that is easy to do and has many benefits. Halasana rejuvenates the inside of the body and makes it healthy again.

Health Benefits of Halasana

  • Regular practice of this asana can prevent diseases like diabetes, obesity, constipation, stomach ailments, blood pressure, and menstrual disorders.
  • It makes your spine elastic and flexible.
  • Halasana helps reduce belly and body fat.
  • This improves memory strength.

Steps To Do Halasana

  • Lie on a yoga mat or rug and unite your legs.
  • Put up your legs at a 90 degree angle.
  • Squeeze your palms, lift your waist and legs, bend forward, bend your back, and place your feet on the floor above your head.
  • Try to place your toes on the floor and keep your feet straight.
  • Balance all the load on the shoulder blades, move both hands above your head, connect your fingers and hold your head with them, relax your elbows on the floor.
  • Try to stay in position until the count to 100.
  • Then release your fingers above your head and press your palms on the floor. With your thumbs back, bring your body and feet to the floor.
  • Relax in a corpse pose and practice for 2 more rotations.
