Home Remedies For Seasonal Allergies

In Spring Season, weeds from plants release pollen into the air, which is known as pollination. These pollen grains are allergens for seasonal allergies. Seasonal allergies, sometimes called “Hay Fever,” are caused by exposure to spores or pollen in the atmosphere released by fungi, grass, trees, and other plants.

The best natural remedy for allergies, if possible, is prevention. There are many Home Remedies available to treat this allergy.

1: Stay Hydrated

When your body is dehydrated, your immunity will decrease. This causes nasal congestion, runny nose, nausea, and coughing.

When you wake up, try drinking 2 to 3 glasses of warm water. You can also drink soup or juice to meet your body’s needs.

2: Green Leafy Vegetables

Leafy greens such as spinach, broccoli, and leeks are rich in quercetin. These are bioflavonoid compounds that control histamine production and release into your body. This leafy vegetable also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. You can eat it raw and cooked. Also make a warm green vegetable soup to soothe your taste buds and reduce your allergic reactions.

3: Citrus Drinks

Citrus fruits are the best source of vitamin C, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. During spring, the sun is getting hotter every day. It makes our body weak and dehydrated. Citrus fruits give you energy and keep you fresh. They also help boost your immunity to combat the symptoms of changing seasons.

Eat more citrus fruits than drink juice. Eating citrus fruits is significantly better for the immune system than drinking juice.

4: Red Onion Water

When you are exposed to an allergen, your body immediately releases histamine. Onions contain the compound quercetin, which helps control histamine production. Therefore, it makes sense to reduce allergy symptoms.

Onion is a natural antihistamine that reduces allergy symptoms. It can also help as a bronchodilator to open contracted airways.

5: Local Honey

Consuming honey produced by bees in your area every day can help relieve allergies. Bees transfer pollen from flower petals. So, taking it daily can gradually reduce your sensitivity to pollen grains.

6: Peppermint Tea

Peppermint is a natural remedy for dust allergies, pollen allergies, or other respiratory allergies. It contains a type of flavonoid called luteolin-7-O-rutinoside, which helps block the activity and secretion of anti-inflammatory enzymes such as histamine.

You can put a teaspoon of dried peppermint leaves in a glass of water and bring it to a boil. Let the mixture steep for about ten minutes. Strain the tea and drink it while it is still warm.

7: Hot And Spicy Food

Hot and spicy foods loosen thick mucus and help clear blocked nasal passages and throat. Hot and savory foods include soups, curries and chili peppers, which help loosen the phlegm and sludge that clogs up your body.

8: Eucalyptus Oil

Eucalyptus oil can be a substitute for seasonal allergies. You can add a few drops of the oil to the water, boil it and inhale the steam. This helps open up your sinuses and nasal passages. Several studies have shown that eucalyptus oil also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
