Purna Matsyendrasana is an advanced version of Ardha Matsyendrasana. In English this is known as the “Full Spinal Twist Pose”. Most people can easily do the Ardha Matsyendrasana. However, to perform the Purna Matsyendrasana, it requires sufficient practice and flexibility so as not to injure the body. This is one of the asanas that are very good for the health of the spine and back. However, people starting to practice this pose should be careful.
Steps To Do Purna Matsyendrasana
- Sit on a flat surface.
- Now stretch your legs in front of your body.
- Place your left foot in the right hip joint as close to the side of your waist as possible.
- Bend your right leg and lift your knee.
- Place your right foot on the left side of your left knee.
- Gently rotate the spine to the right.
- Try to place your left shoulder on the right side of the raised right knee.
- Try to grab your right ankle with your left hand.
- Place your right arm behind your back.
- This is the final pose.
- Now turn your head to the right. Now exhale slowly.
- Hold the pose as long as possible.
- Now slowly return to the last position.
- Do the same with other sides.
- It’s a round.Do two to three rounds.
