6 Best Home Remedies To Soothe A Cough Naturally

Coughing is the body’s method of clearing irritants from the airways. The entire respiratory tract of the human body has nerve endings. 1. Turmeric: Turmeric is an herb that has been used in Vedic culture for thousands of years. Curcumin, the main component of turmeric, helps fight respiratory ailments such as sore throat, sneezing, nasal congestion, coughs, as well as asthma and bronchitis. Curcumin also has anti-inflammatory properties that help with cooking. You can add a teaspoon of turmeric or a glass of milk to your regular tea.

2. Ginger: Ginger is known to have good antiviral properties against respiratory viruses that cause infections. 4. Lemon And Honey: Lemon contains vitamin C, which boosts your immunity so it can fight off infectious microorganisms better. Lemon also reduces congestion by removing mud from your neck. Honey, on the other hand, is known to suppress coughs and other upper respiratory infections. Some studies have also shown that honey is more effective than antibiotics in treating coughs. You can add a few drops of lemon and a teaspoon of honey to black tea or a glass of warm water.

5. Gargle Saltwater: Gargling with warm salt water may be the easiest way to get rid of a cough. It doesn’t treat coughs directly, but helps relieve inflammation and itching in the throat and reduces mucus and mucus that is in the throat. Heat three glasses of water in a saucepan, add two tablespoons of salt and gargle at least twice a day.

6. Humidifier: Dry air can irritate the throat and make it more difficult to form mucus, especially at night, and thus stimulate coughing. A humidifier helps convert water into moisture, which slowly fills the room and increases humidity. All you have to do is turn on the humidifier in your bedroom before going to bed.
