Shashankasana Yoga & How To Do Shashankasana

The word Shashankasana comes from Sanskrit words, where “Shashank” literally means “Rabbit” and “Asana” means “yoga pose”. Together, “Shashankasana” is called “Rabbit Pose”. Because this asana makes our body look like a rabbit; So it is called Shashankasana. The benefits of Shashankasana are innumerable.

Steps To Do Shashankasana

  • First, seat on the floor or on a yoga mat.
  • Fold your right leg and place it behind your back or right buttock (thigh).
  • Then, in the same way, fold your left leg and hold it behind your back towards your left thigh and sit down.
  • Now breathe by keeping your both hands upwards.
  • Then slowly move forward and exhale.
  • Place your head and palms on the floor.
  • Now breathe first, raise your stomach to your chest, raise your hands and return to the starting position.
  • Do this asana 4 to 5 times like this.
