Linga Mudra Meaning
Linga Mudra is a Sanskrit term for hand movements that symbolize Lord Shiva, the supreme deity. It is associated with the male phallus (male genitalia). This mudra is a symbol of masculinity, therefore it is called the Linga Mudra. It focuses on the Fire element in the body.
How To Do Linga Mudra
- First, sit in a comfortable sitting position and place your hands on your hips or knees, palms facing up.
- Meditation postures like Padmasana, Siddhasana, Swastikasana, Vajrasana etc. are ideal for practicing mudras.
- Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, with awreness of process of breathing.
- Now put your hands in front of your body, clap and connect your fingers.
- However, keep your left thumb straight and pointing up. Circle it with the thumb and index finger of your right hand.
- To remove all thoughts from the mind, the mind only needs to focus on OM.
- In addition, it must be done with both hands at the same time.
- Don’t let the rate of breathing be on your side.
- Do this pose for 35 minutes every day or for 10 to 12 minutes three times a day.
